BlueSwell is a free app for finding civic and community events near you, published by Pappas Productions, LLC. This page describes exactly what the app does and does not do with your information. No account or sign-in is required to use BlueSwell.
What stays on your device
Your saved events, RSVP history, followed organizations, seen-event status, and profile preferences, like your city and language, are stored locally on your device only. We don't have a server-side account system, so we never see or collect this information.
What happens when you RSVP
To register your attendance at an event, BlueSwell sends your name, email address, and phone number, if you provide one, to Mobilize.us, the civic organizing platform that hosts the event. This is used only to complete your RSVP with that event's host. We don't store a copy of this information ourselves.
What happens when you search by zip code
When you search for events near a zip code, that zip code and your chosen search radius are sent to our backend server, which relays the request to Mobilize.us and returns matching events. Our server does not store your zip code or link it to you or your device in any way. It passes through and is discarded.
What we don't do
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind
- No access to your device's GPS or precise location
- No selling or sharing of your information with anyone besides Mobilize.us, and only as described above
Calendar access
If you choose to add an event to your device calendar, BlueSwell will ask for calendar permission at that moment, and only writes the single event you selected.
Children
BlueSwell is a civic events tool and does not knowingly collect any data from children.
This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. It's served by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical request data to deliver and secure the site. The page loads its font from Google Fonts, which is a standard web request to Google's servers.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
