BlueSwell is an app for finding civic and community events near you, published by Pappas Productions, LLC. If something is not working, or you have a question the answers below do not cover, email us and a person will read it.

No events are showing up

Check the ZIP code and search radius in Settings first. A 5 mile radius in a rural area can legitimately return nothing. Try 20 miles.

If the list is empty right after opening the app, pull down to refresh. The event server sleeps when it has been idle and can take a few seconds to wake on the first request of the day.

RSVP is not working

Tapping RSVP opens the event host's own signup page from Mobilize.us inside the app, with the fields you already entered filled in. You finish the signup there. If that page does not load, the event may have been closed or cancelled by its host. Confirmation emails come from Mobilize or the host organization, not from BlueSwell.

An event is wrong, cancelled, or should not be listed

BlueSwell does not create events. It lists public events published by organizations on Mobilize.us and on public community calendars. Corrections have to be made by the organization that posted the event. If an event looks like it does not belong in the app at all, email us and we will look at it.

Calendar permission

BlueSwell asks for calendar access only at the moment you tap Add to Calendar, and it only writes the single event you selected. You can decline and still use every other part of the app.

Languages

The app interface is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Change it under Settings. Event titles and descriptions come from the organizations that posted them, so some events will appear in the language the host wrote them in.

Deleting your data

There is no account to delete. Your saved events, RSVP history, followed organizations, and profile details live only on your device. Deleting the app removes all of it. See the privacy policy for the full detail on what is and is not sent anywhere.

Accessibility

If something in the app is hard to read or hard to reach with a screen reader, tell us what screen and what device. We will fix it.

Who we are and are not

BlueSwell is an independent app built by Pappas Productions, LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Mobilize.us, by any political party or campaign, or by any government agency. Event data is read from public sources; the organizations that host those events are responsible for their own content.
